Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions about our cleaning services. Can't find what you're looking for? Just text us!
How long does a cleaning usually take?
Most cleanings take 2 to 3 hours, depending on the size of your space, the level of detail needed, and the number of cleaners we send. For larger homes (3+ bedrooms) or deep cleans, it may take a bit longer.
We work at a steady pace and don't rush. Your space gets the time it needs.
Do you bring your own cleaning supplies?
Yes, we bring everything: supplies, equipment, and eco-friendly products that are safe for your family, pets, and the environment.
If you'd rather we use specific products you already have at home, just let us know.
Do you work on weekends?
How can I pay for the cleaning?
We accept multiple payment methods for your convenience:
- Cash
- Check
- Venmo
- Zelle
Payment is due after each cleaning service. There are no upfront deposits and you don't need a credit card.
Do you offer a satisfaction guarantee?
Absolutely. Your satisfaction is our top priority.
If you notice something we missed when reviewing the cleaning, just let us know within 24 hours and we'll come back and redo that specific area at no extra cost.
We stand behind our work.

How much does house cleaning cost in the Boston area?
The cost depends on the size of your home, the type of cleaning (regular, deep, move-out, or post-construction), and how often you book.
Recurring plans cost less per visit: weekly saves 20%, bi-weekly 15%, and monthly 10%. For an exact number, text us your home size and city, free quote, no commitment.
What's the difference between a regular cleaning and a deep cleaning?
A regular cleaning maintains a home that's already in good shape: dusting, vacuuming, mopping, bathrooms, and kitchen surfaces.
A deep cleaning goes further: baseboards, inside appliances, behind furniture, grout, window sills, and built-up grime. If it's your first professional cleaning or it's been a while, we recommend starting with a deep clean, then maintaining it with a recurring plan.
What's included in a standard house cleaning?
A standard cleaning includes:
- Dusting all surfaces
- Vacuuming carpets and rugs
- Sweeping and mopping floors
- Bathrooms: toilet, shower, sink, mirrors
- Kitchen: counters, stovetop, sink, outside of appliances
- Emptying trash and general tidying
Add-ons like inside the oven or fridge, interior windows, and laundry can be requested when booking.
How should I prepare my home before the cleaners arrive?
Just pick up personal items, clothes, and clutter from floors and surfaces so we can focus on actual cleaning.
Secure pets if they're anxious around visitors, and let us know about any areas that need special attention. That's it. We bring all supplies and equipment.
Do I need to be home during the cleaning?
No. Most of our regular clients aren't home during the cleaning. Many leave a key, door code, or building access instructions.
We're fully insured and have been trusted in Greater Boston homes since 2020, and some clients have been with us for over 4 years. You're welcome to be home the first time to walk us through your preferences.
Are your cleaning products safe for pets and kids?
Yes. We use eco-friendly, non-toxic products that are safe for children, pets, and people with sensitivities.
If anyone in your home has allergies or you prefer specific products, tell us and we'll adapt.
How often should I have my house cleaned?
For most homes, bi-weekly (every two weeks) works best: the house stays consistently clean at a lower cost than weekly.
Homes with kids, pets, or heavy use often prefer weekly; monthly works well for smaller households. Recurring plans include discounts: 20% off weekly, 15% off bi-weekly, 10% off monthly.
Do you clean apartments and condos, or only houses?
We clean all types of homes: apartments, condos, single-family houses, and townhomes, plus offices and commercial spaces.
We also offer student apartment cleaning near Boston-area universities and move-in/move-out cleanings for renters and landlords.
How do I find a reliable house cleaner near me?
Look for a local company that is fully insured, has consistent 5-star reviews from real clients, and serves your specific city.
Pam Cleaning MA provides house cleaning near you in 30+ Greater Boston communities, including Boston, Cambridge, Somerville, Medford, Malden, Newton, Watertown, and Needham, backed by a 24-hour satisfaction guarantee.
